Abstract

The article presents the results of a prospective randomized comparative study of the effect of combination of drospirenone at a dose of 3 mg and ethinylestradiol at a dose of 20 or 30 mcg on skin and anthropometric indices of 40 women of reproductive age. The study has confirmed a similar effect on the main anthropometric indices and skin condition in both groups. It was shown that drospirenone 3 mg+ ethinylestradiol 20 mcg or drospirenone 3 mg+ethinylestradiol 30 mcg have no significant effect on weight and body mass index, and waist and hip circumference. In both groups, statistically significant reduction of skin oiliness was noted at the 5th month of treatment, and the reduction of severity of acne, as well as manifestations of hirsutism - at the 6th month.
